直面全球化與自由貿易的未來–青年的角色 The Future of Globalization and Free Trade — Role of the Youth
Ms. Diana, Chen Ningning
Chairman of Organizing Committee, 2017 Boao Youth Forum for Asia(Hong Kong)
th
Welcome all the honoured guests and participants to the Boao Youth Forum for Asia (Hong Kong). It is the 6 time for Boao Forum for Asia and
the Y.Elites Association to present such a reputable event to all of us. I am privileged to chair the Organizing Committee of the forum again this year.
2017 is a meaningful year to us because it is the 20th anniversary of the HKSAR. It is my great honour to participate in the 2017 Boao Youth Forum
for Asia (HK) forum with leaders and experts from different countries and professions and explore our theme – “The Future of Globalization and
Free Trade-Role of the Youth” together. I wish we should have a very meaningful discussion today.
The Boao Forum for Asia held two meetings in Paris and Xi’an this year. The forums discussed “Belt and Road” Initiative: Building Synergy with
European Policies and Strategies”, “Asia and the world economic situation”, globalization, new economic and new growth drivers and so on, which
has a fruitful results.
After the establishment of HKSAR, we have faced the challenges from different global financial crisis. The supportive policies from mainland China
help Hong Kong’s economy maintain long-term prosperity and stability. As the global villager, we are unable to stand alone. How should we face
with the challenges from the de-globalization? Can our youth join hands with our country in the sculpting of common and inclusive globalization?
I believe “Belt and Road” and “Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Bay” are the opportunities of Hong Kong. The “Belt and Road initiatives” proposed
by President Xi in 2013 and the building of “GHM Greater Bay” in the 2017 government report proposed by Premier Li are believed to bring new
impetus to the economic development Hong Kong and to bring new directions for youth.
The 2017 Boao Youth Forum for Asia (Hong Kong) will have 3 main sessions, namely, (1) Economics: New world trade rules in the new economy –
Role of The Greater Bay, (2) Youth: The challenges of artificial intelligence and automatic to education and vocational training and its effect to youth’s
career and academics pursuit and (3) The exchange of culture and humanities: Globalization vs Anti-globalization, reflections of Globalization 4.0.
We expect that young people can understand the latest international situation and plan our future.
The success of 2017 Boao Youth Forum For Asia(Hong Kong) relies on the great support from sponsors, joint organizers, media partners, participating
associations and schools. Last but not least, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the voluntary contributions from our Organizing
Committee members. Without you, we won’t have a memorable 2017 Boao Youth Forum For Asia(Hong Kong). Thank You!
