About The Y.Elites Association
Established on May 16, 2007, the Y.Elites Association is a youth group comprising the alumni of the national studies classes of National School of Administration, China Pudong Cadres College and the Academy of Chinese Culture. Its objectives are to be “Focal Point of Young Elites, Promoter of National Studies, Carer for Social Issues, and Think Tank for Current Affairs”. The Association has now 333 members including young entrepreneurs, professionals from various industries and leaders from youth organizations. It has formed 12 research groups on areas of Finance, Real Estate, Industries & Commerce, Information Technology, Students, Sports & Culture, Community & Livelihood, Politics, Women Forum, Mainland Affairs, Hong Kong-Taiwan Exchange and Ethnic Groups.
Since its establishment, the Y.Elites Association has actively participated in organizing various activities, including the welcoming of the Olympic Flame and Olympic champions to Hong Kong, donating in respect of the 2008 Sichuan earthquake, organizing seminars and forums on topics such as political development, finance and information technology,and making policy suggestions to the Government of HKSAR. The Association had received compliments from the HKSAR Government and wide recognition from various sectors of the society. In particular, the Association organized the “Y.Elites Forum: 30 Years of Reform & Opening-Up: The Role of Hong Kong, Opportunities & Responsibilities for Youths”and “2009 Boao Youth Forum (Hong Kong)” at the HKCEC on 30 July 2008 and 7 December 2009 respectively. In “2009 Boao Youth Forum (Hong Kong)”, Madam Liu Yandong, State Councilor officiated and spoke at the welcome reception and the Chief Executive of HKSAR, Mr. Donald Tsang officiated the forum together with Minister Peng Qinghua, Director of the Central Government Liaison Office of HKSAR and many other minister level officials. The Forums have attracted significant attention from the society.
The Y.Elites Association strives to ignite Hong Kong young people’s passion and love for the motherland; to act as a podium for national education; to provide a platform for exchange with the society and the mainland; to set out the stage for gathering Hong Kong young elites and organizing their activities; and to be the frontline for building a better Hong Kong. |
