About Boao Forum for Asia

As a non-governmental international organization headquartered in China, the Boao Forum for Asia is committed to promoting Asian economic integration and bringing Asian countries even closer to their development goals. It is today the premier forum for government leaders, corporate executives and opinion leaders from the academia and the media to think, debate and act on the most pressing issues in Asia, emerging economies and the world at large. The Forum was initiated by Former Filipino President Fidel Ramos, Former Australian Prime Minister Bob Hawke and Former Japanese prime Minister Morihiro Hosokawa in 1998, launched by 28 Asian countries and inaugurated in 2001. The Annual Conference of the Forum is convened each April in Boao, Hainan, China since 2002.
