Forum Information / Background
Jointly initiated by 26 Asian countries and inaugurated on 27 February 2001, Boao Forum For Asia (BFA) is the most prestigious and premier forum for leaders in government, business and academia in Asia and other continents to share visions on the most pressing issues with the aim to promote economic integration in this dynamic region.
In 2009, The Youth Elites Association was honoured to partner with BFA to jointly organize the first youth forum outside of the annual conference in Hong Kong which successfully brought together over 12 senior government officials, scholars and CEOs from the Mainland, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao to explore the implications of the unprecedented financial crisis on political, economic and cultural landscapes of China. Over 1,000 prominent young delegates attended to enhance their understanding and appreciation of the courage, wisdom and confidence of our country in responding to the crisis.
Following last year’s success, 2010 Boao Youth Forum (Hong Kong) will present the topic “Opportunities and Challenges – Asia’s Development on its Road to Recovery” and provide inspirational suggestions as to how Asia, in particular the vast Asian youth community, can embrace new opportunities and face challenges from the aspects of finance, culture industries and sustainable growth.
An elite lineup of local and international speakers will gather to investigate and share important insights on three key topics including: Sustainable Development – The Green Recovery of Asia, The Culture Industry and Economic Development, and Postcrisis Asian Financial Markets.
