Mr. Zhang Zhijun
Mr. Zhang Zhijun, born in the Jiangsu Province in February 1953, is a university graduate. He is currently the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Repulic of China, and his area of responsibility is Policy Plan¬ning and Information.
Mr. Zhang Zhijun was a Staff member and Deputy Office Director, Bureau VII, International Department, Central Committee of CPC (CCCPC) from 1975 to 1988. He became the Office Director, Bureau of North American, Oceanic and Scandinavian Affairs, International Department of CCCPC from 1988 to 1991. He was the First Secretary, Chinese Embassy in the United Kingdom from 1991 to 1994, and from 1994 to 1996 he became the Deputy Director-General, Bureau of North American, Oceanic and Scandinavian Affairs, International Department of CCCPC.
Mr. Zhang was the Deputy Secretary, Par ty Committee of Zibo City, Shandong Province from 1996 to 1997. He became the Director-General, Research Office, International Department of CCCPC from 1997 to 1998. From 1998 to 2000, he became the Director-General, Bureau of North American, Oceanic and Scandinavian Affairs, International Department of CCCPC, and from 2000, he was the Director-General of Bureau of North American, Oceanic and Scandinavian Affairs and Deputy Secretary-General, International Department of CCCPC.
Mr. Zhang was the Vice Minister, International Department of CCCPC from 2000 to 2009. He became the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs in 2009 and has remained in this position since then. |
