Tom Easton joined The Economist in 2000, and was based in New York as a Senior Correspondent until August 2002 when he became New York Bureau Chief. In 2007, he was appointed Asia Business Editor, covering business and finance throughout Asia with a primary focus on China. Previously he has been New York and Tokyo Bureau Chief for The Baltimore Sun, and Associate Editor, followed by Senior Editor of Forbes Magazine. He has also been interviewed by the majority of the global English language radio and television networks.
