Mr. Paul Glasson
Paul Glasson is the Chairman of Sigiriya Capital; he is also the China Representative for Australia’s HRL Ltd; and the Chief Representative in China for the Australia China Business Council. Other roles have included as Strategic Alliance Par tner with KPMG Australia from 2005-2008.
Mr. Glasson’s corporate advisory engagements have included roles with a number of China’s largest com¬panies and Australian companies working with Chinese companies on projects in Australia (including: Bao¬steel and Aquila, Dual Gas IDGCC Power Plant, Citic Pacific on $3.5B Sino Iron; MCC on Sino Iron Project; Yilgarn Infrastructure proposed $.4.5B port and rail project; Baosteel; Nanjing Iron and Steel; Fosun Group; Australasian Resources; Yunnan Copper; Huaneng). In the past 2 years, the significant deals by Mr. Glasson are Baosteel investing into Aquila and the M&A between Atlas and Aurox to achieve the 4th biggest mining company in Australia.
Mr. Glasson has also played a pivotal role on behalf of Australia’s HRL in developing a presence in the clean coal/coal gasification sector in China in recent years. HRL is building a 550MW IDGCC Demonstration plant in cooperation with Chinese parties in Victoria Australia. The transaction is the largest cooperation between Australia and China in the area of emissions reduction.
With his role in ACBC, he has brought members into China and organized well-noted forums in China in Sino-Australian business circle; meanwhile, he plays a significant role in China’s leaders’ business forum and luncheons in Australia. This year, with cooperation with ABC, he introduced the live business leaders dia¬logue at Australia Expo Pavilion into Australia mainstream TV media for first time.
Paul has worked and lived in China for 12 years and is fluent in Chinese. |
