Mr. Kang Woohyon
Mr. Kang Woohyon is the Chairman of the Korea Ceramic Foundation (a deputy ministerial level), CEO of Nami Island, Inc., Board Member of UNICEF Korea, Director of Training Center for Environmental Activ¬ists, KFEM, and Adjunct Professor of Graduate School of International Tourism, Hanyang University. Mr. Kang is a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design and a Master of Fine Arts in Adver tising Design, Hongik University, Korea.
Mr. Kang was awarded the 1987 Grand Prix, the 5th Nomar Councours of Picture Book Illustrations, Japan. He was awarded the Golden Plaque, Biennale in Illustrations Brastislava (BIB), Czech in 1989, and got the Environmental Cultural Art Award, Korea, in 1993. He was selected as one of the “50 People for Asia’s Next Generation” by Asahi Shimbun (Japan) in 1994. In 1998, he was selected as one of the “50 People for Korea’s Next Generation” by the Hankook Ilbo, a major daily Korean newspaper, and in 1999, he was selected as a “New Intellectual” by the Ministry of Culture & Tourism.
In 1999, Mr. Kang was awarded the Prime Minister’s Prize, Korea Designer’s Award, Korea. In 2001, Mr. Kang received the Korean Children’s Book Award, Minister of Culture & Tourism Prize.
