Each year, the Boao Youth Forum (Hong Kong), jointly organized by the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) and the Y. Elites Association, invites leaders and scholars of different fields to discuss and express their opinions on economical, cultural and social issues. Since 2009, the Boao Youth Forum has been regarded as one of the most influential international forums in the region. While the 2009 Boao Youth Forum (Hong Kong) focused on China’s response to the financial crisis, the 2010 Boao Youth Forum (Hong Kong) explored the opportunities and challenges facing Asian countries in the post-financial crisis era.
In 2011, Asian countries are experiencing changes. Cultural industries, the Internet, the demand for highly skilled labour, and sustainable growth are some of the most hotly-debated topics. Common to all these topics is the role of the youths: it is about time to explore the question of what we can do.
It is against such background that we present to you the 2011 Boao Youth Forum (Hong Kong): “Asian Economies in Remodeling: What We Can Do?” The Forum will be held on 15 September 2011 (Thu), 9:00am to 6:30pm at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. There will be 4 sub-panels on “Creative Asia: New Champion in Global Culture & Entertainment Industry”, “Internet in Transition - What lies ahead”, “Education in Transition: Bridging Gaps between High Education Structures and Emerging Demands for Skilled Labors” and “Revitalizing Asian Finance Sector for Sustainable Economic Development”.
Internationally acclaimed experts, scholars, entrepreneurs and government officials are invited to speak in the Forum and share their views on cultural industries, the Internet, higher educations and the financial industries. We hope that through our Forum, our youths will be inspired on their roles and missions, and contribute to their countries and regions!
