As the world sails through the financial crisis, China has surpassed many countries in both recovery and growth. Earlier this year, the Central Government reversed the downward economy trend by growing local consumption through its 4 Quadrillion economy recovery plan. Today the development of China has caught the serious attention of the world, particularly the world's younger generation. China is undisputedly an integral part of the global economy. The theme of the Forum will be China's Response to Financial Crisiss to reflect the attention of the world on the positive role that China plays in a new world economy. It aims at increasing the understanding of youth from Greater China on this role.

The Forum will be the first of its kind to be organized by a local youth NGO and also the 2nd event that BFA organized in Hong Kong, after the International Tourism Conference jointly organized by BFA and the Government of Hong Kong SAR in 2003. It will be on 7th December 2009 from 9:00am to 18:00pm at Hall 3G of the HKCEC.

The forum has gained support from the Hong Kong SAR Government, Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Hong Kong SAR and the Commissioner's Office of China's Foreign Ministry in the Hong Kong SAR. The Central Policy Unit and the Home Affairs Bureau and various youth organizations such as China Young Leaders FoundationFok Ying Tung FoundationHong Kong United Youth Association and Centum Charitas Foundation have enlisted themselves as supporting organizations. Bank of Communications Co., Ltd is the Exclusive Strategic Partner of 2009 Boao Youth Forum (Hong Kong). Delegates and VIPs include senior officials from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan as well as major business leaders.
