Mr Liao Min
Prior to his current role at the China Banking Regulatory Commission (CBRC), Mr Liao had rich working experience in the financial industry, ranging from the central bank to commercial bank and financial holding company. When serving at the central bank, he had been engaged in foreign exchange trading, fixed income investment and portfolio management. After moving to the Bank of China, he had participated in the restructuring and public listing of the Bank of China (Hong Kong). Currently, Mr Liao is responsible for comprehensive study and coordination works in the CBRC, and has directed some important research projects. He is a key member of the CBRC assessment team on core principles for effective banking supervision, as well as a member of the task force for the implementation of the New Basel Accord (Basel II).
Also, he is a member of the Corporate Governance Task Force (CGTF) of the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision (BCBS), a standing council member of the China International Finance Society, a member of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and the All-China Youth Federation.
Mr Liao received a Master degree in Economics from Peking University in 1993 and a MBA from Judge Business School of Cambridge University in 2006. |
