Hua Jian , Professor, Director of Culture Industry Research Center in Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences（SASS）; Consultative Expert of Policy-Making of Shanghai Municipal Government; Guest Research Fellow of International Cooperation Center in China National Development and Reform Commission; Guest Research Fellow, Culture Industry Research Academy of Beijing University.

His research focuses on cultural industry, creative economy, cultural policies and sports economy. In addition to academic cultural research, he has acquired extensive experiences on administration, management as well as decision making. He also serves as a consultative expert of policy-making for Shanghai and many other major provinces and cities including Guangxi, Shenzhen, Hunan etc.

He has undertaken more than 20 important research projects commissioned by the World Bank, the National Social Science Fund, the State Ministries, the provinces and municipalities government and the world's top 500 enterprises. These projects include Research on Shanghai Disneyland’s Cultural Development, Impression Sanjie Liu’s cultural industry－Evaluation and Future Development Planning, Foshan City Cultural Industry Development Plan, China - ASEAN Cultural Industry Collaborative Planning. He has published more than 10 books including Cultural + creativity = wealth, Regional Cultural Industry Development. He also serves as major moderator and academic chairman of China-ASEAN Cultural Industry Strategic Dialogue from 2006 to 2009. He was invited to give presentation at Creative Clusters 2007 Conference（London）and many international forums and conferences.

His excellent academic performance has won him "Shanghai Ninth Philosophy and Social Sciences Achievement Award," "Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences 50th Anniversary of the Academic Contribution Award," and a lot of other awards.
