Yat Siu is the Founder and CEO of Outblaze (www.outblaze.com), a digital services and solutions company specializing in cloud technology. Yat Siu is also a founder and board director of Sanrio Digital (www.sanriodigital.com), a company that leverages Sanrio intellectual proper ty for use in digital media. In addition, Yat Siu is the Fonero Leader for the Asia region, leading effor ts to grow the FON WiFi community (www.fon.com) and running FON’s operations in Hong Kong. Yat serves on the Board of Directors for TurnOut Ventures, a joint venture between Turner Enter tainment and Outblaze Investments. In 2010, Yat set up Animoca, a wholly owned subsidiary of Outblaze Ventures, to develop and publish apps for smartphones and social networks. He also serves as a director for the Asian Youth Orchestra.

Yat began his technology career in 1990 working for Atari Germany. Three years later he was invited to serve as Director and Head of East Coast Operations for Lexicor, a graphics software company based in Silicon Valley. In 1996 Yat moved to Hong Kong to establish Hong Kong Cybercity, the first free web page and email provider in Asia. Later renamed Freenation, the service grew rapidly and was acquired by a US-based company. In 1997 Yat joined AT&T Solutions’ System Integration practice, and left a year later to found Outblaze, a multiple award-winning company that pioneered cloud-like provision of multilingual white label web applications.

In 2009, tech giant IBM purchased Outblaze’s messaging division and used the assets to open the first cloud computing lab in Asia.

The messaging services originally developed by Outblaze were used to update IBM’s Lotus business messaging solutions. Following the sale of assets to IBM, Yat reorganized Outblaze to focus more heavily on digital enter tainment consumer products.

Yat holds a music degree from the Musik Konservatorium Wien. He has received multiple awards including the Standard Chartered Platinum Achievers Award, URENCO Innovation Award, 2006 Piaget Award for Excellence in Entrepreneurship, and he was declared Young Entrepreneur of the Year at the DHL/SCMP 2009 Business Awards. The execution of Yat’s vision earned Outblaze an IT Excellence Gold Award, two Linux Business Awards, two Asia Pacific ICT Alliance (APICTA) Awards, a Golden Penguin Open Source Software Award, a Hong Kong ICT Gold Award, and a Hong Kong Award for Industries. Outblaze won I.T. Company of the Year at Hong Kong’s ComputerWorld Awards 2009.

In 2002, the World Economic Forum named Yat Siu a Global Leader of Tomorrow, and IN 2006 he was declared a Young Global Leader. He is a supporter of various NGO and charity organizations such the Asian Youth Orchestra, WITNESS, APCAUCE, the Salvation Army, the SPCA, the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups, and others.
