Shu Yang is an award-winning TV Presenter for Phoenix TV and news anchor of Phoenix TV flagship news show Good Morning China. She also hosts daily news discussion shows News Talk and Connecting with the World.

Prior to Phoenix TV, she served as a TV Presenter for China Central Television where she started her career as a TV host for OUTLOOK, one of China’s first TV English learning shows in China. She also served as TV Presenter for CCTV International.

After joining Phoenix TV, she demonstrated her interests in international affairs, and had covered many historical events, such as the presidential inauguration ceremony of Barack Obama, and travelled to London to cover the royal wedding of Prince William and Catherine Middleton.

She has been awarded Best News Anchor of the Year for twice for her outstanding capabilities in Phoenix TV, while the Program she co-hosts, Omnimedia, was awarded Silver Plague at Chicago Film Festival.

She holds a master’s degree from Columbia University School of International and Public Affairs, a master’s degree from Hong Kong Baptist University and Bachelor’s degree from Communication University of China. She’s also a Harvard University SEED fellow, a project aiming to cultivate youth leaders in social innovation.
