Dr Roy Chung Chi-ping GBS BBS JP is a Co-founder of Techtronic Industries Company Limited and currently the Non-Executive Director of the Company.
Dr. Chung holds a Doctorate Degree of Engineering from the University of Warwick, United Kingdom, and a Doctorate Degree of Business Administration from the City University of Macau. He was awarded Honorary Doctor of Business Administration by the Lingnan University, Honorary Doctor of Business Administration by the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and Honorary Doctor by the University of Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia. He was also re-appointed as an Industrial Professor by the University of Warwick, United Kingdom in 2015.
He was awarded the Gold Bauhinia Star (GBS) Medal and Bronze Bauhinia Star (BBS) Medal by the Hong Kong SAR Government in 2017 and 2011 respectively. He was also appointed as Justice of Peace by the Hong Kong SAR Government in 2005 and won the Young Industrialists Awards of Hong Kong in 1997. In 2014, he was further awarded the Industrialist of the Year.
Dr. Chung is an active member of many social committees and associations, and he is highly dedicated to the advancement of the industry. He is currently the Honorary President of the Federation of Hong Kong Industries, Chairman of the Mandatory Provident Fund Industry Schemes Committee, Member of the Research Grants Council, Education Bureau, HKSAR, Director of Nano and Advanced Materials Institute Limited, Honorary Court Chairman of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and President of The Boys’ & Girls’ Club Association of Hong Kong. He is also the Founder of Bright Future Charitable Foundation. He was the Chairman of the Task Force on Promotion of Vocational Education, Education Bureau, HKSAR from 2014 to 2015, and Deputy Chairman of the Vocational Training Council from 2010 to 2015.
